What color eggs did you get today?

Thank you. The taste beats store bought and will never go back. I think we have 30 or 31 eggs in the basket. The blue egg is tough. I should have done it in the shade but I dont think it would make a difference. I only know 2 breeds of the chickens that laid and one is my EE/polish mix and the other is a bantam barred rock. I think one could be a buff cochin but other then that I have no clue.

OH ! How awesome is that! I am going to print that picture of your eggs. My EE's wont lay for another 10 weeks or so. I have 7 girls and am hoping for a colorful basket. How blessed you are.

Could you tell me who laid the lightest brown egg to the darkest brown egg. I want to have some idea of who laid which brown egg. I have a buff orpington, 2 rhode island reds, 2 black aussies, 1 white rock, 2 silver laced wyandottes, 2 wellsumers, 2 blue cochins and 7 EE's. Just curious of who lays what color of egg. I do know that my welsumers will lay the darkest brown.

I remember waiting! We had to wait all through winter for our girls to start laying. I was chomping at the bit!!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that your gals decide to start laying early.

Your EE's should be laying a bluish colored egg to an olive green I believe. I heard of some stories of EE's laying brown eggs. your buff orps should be laying a light brown egg. My bantam barred rock lays a whitish brown colored egg.

One of the Easter Eggers. They're not so easy to keep track of who lays what. Obama looks quite different from the other EE's and I've walked in on her squawking at me because she is trying to lay her egg. I leave her be for about 15-20 minutes and when I go back, I find the nice deep green eggs. I'll try and keep an eye out for who lays the antique gold ones. I *think* it might be Little Red, an EE hen I hatched from some refrigerated eggs.

Awww that's too cute. I think EE's will be our next eggs we incubate, but not this year

We went from having 17 this year to having 47 and 2 turkeys, we still don't even have pens ready yet! But I am really liking those eggs of yours!!

Well when you are ready, if my ladies are laying, I'll hook you up with a dozen.

And boy do I hear you on multiplying birds. We started out with 25, culled back to 14, and now I've gone and added 10 more chicks, more in the bator, several quail I hatched out and since I couldn't let them be lonely, I ordered 15 more from Monarc. They'll be arriving sometime next week. Eeek!

I keep going back to stare at that dark green egg. I think I'm going to save it. It doesn't really look olive to me. There's no hint of brown in it. It rather looks like a deep forest green.

Aww thanks!! You are the best person ever! How about a trade? When my gifted Serama start laying, I will hook you up with them!!!
They don't make for good eggs but boy do they make up for cute chicks and chickens!
