What Color Guinea?

Ok these are my guinea babies. The first pic is my chocolates and my coral blues. The second pic is my opalines and the ones I'm not sure about. Slate or violet? I ordered both but something went wrong with the order and I didn't get them both but I don't know who I didn't get. Can somebody help? Thanks!

It looks to me like your chocolates are not chocolates. What I am seeing in your first picture is keets with a solid stripe in the middle which indicates full pearling. Chocolates are only partially pearled and as such just have squiggly lines on the top of their heads and no solid center stripe.

You may well have violet keets but they are at an age that I cannot tell. If they had white wings when you first received them, they are violets. If their wings were not white then they are likely slates.

I found a pic of them early on. Feel like playing the guinea guessing game? and I love them no matter what color they are. I've got 4 more that just hatched last night. They've become an addiction

So my order got all jacked up! Was supposed to be
3 Choc
3 Opaline
3 Slate
3 Violet
3 Coral Blue

I think it's actually
4 Porcelain
4 Coral Blue
4 Slate
4 Pearl (although they were lighter than my older pearls, almost between a brown and a pearl if there is such a thing??)

Here is my guess but that is all it is when it comes to the light colored ones.


I think that your final guess is probably correct since I can see 4 coral blue and 4 slates in the photo along with what appears to be 4 porcelains and 3 pearls.

This is what the pearl/chocolates look like right now. They still don't look anything like my pearls did. They are getting pretty though.

Since that keet has a broad center stripe on its head it is definitely not a chocolate. What it is very likely is a brown since brown guineas do have the brown feathers and are fully pearled. Chocolates just have the squiggly lines on their heads and are only partially pearled.
