What color is he? Just birchen, or something else?

This is Midnight. He is 3 years old and was sold to us as a black Cochin. As a chick, his down was black. But as he feathered out is became apparent that he was at least birchen. I've dwelled on this for quite a while, because he has weird mottling on his chest. He is HUGE like his brother, Sprinkles, who was supposed to be a white Cochin, but ended up being a lavender splash mix. Midnight has grey legs and Sprinkles has pink so they are definitely not pure Cochin. I also know their body shape is wrong. Has anyone ever seen Midnights color before? Or know what it is?

Couple months late but he looks more like an Orpington. No feathering on the legs. Probably a very poor silver laced bird.
