what color is my bantam cochin pullet?

I was told birchen but wouldn't the gold color be white?

She was only 3 months old in this pic, she's much prettier now

well, brown reds are basically birchen, but a rusty red color replacing the white

from a friend of mine, he's not seen this color of cochin banties before either... must be a recessive gene in there somewhere?

not a fluke either since he hatched more from that hen & roo and the babies are feathering out the same...

i'll have to tell him the good news, LOL!
