She was sold to us as a splash and clearly that was off! Is she blue or black?

Why do you think it is a boy? It is 15 weeks old. There was another post on here earlier this week and someone had pictures of a 12 week old cochin roo that had lots more comb and wattles. What am I missing on mine?

Do you have a picture of the side of the bird?
If that is white in the wings then I would say it isnt a Blue...

I say pullet... My bantam cochin roo had waaaay bigger wattles and comb at 15 weeks. Plus he started to crow at 9 weeks.

I'd call that color self-blue. It's my favorite color.

Really pretty chicken you have there!

She does have some white feathers in her wings but they have been there ever since we got her at 5 weeks old. I just don't know what is the difference between blue and black.

BTW, I have it asked someone who knows about Cochins if she is a she or a he and they say she is defintely a she. I am satisfied that she is a pullet!

Thanks for the compliments on her. She is so sweet but we have spoiled her now. She had to stay two weeks inside because she strained her leg and now she wants to spend every night inside. She screams to the top of her lungs when it gets dark if she is in the coop. She has a box in our sunroom where she sleeps and she likes us to play mariachi music so she can sing along. She is so much fun.

Here is the side shot Chris asked for

She was asleep in the yard.

I would say blue, but probably of mixed color parentage, since she has the white feathers. My cochin bantam cockerels are obvious about 8 weeks old, so I think you can safely say yours is a girl
