What color is the inside of your coop?

I think my neighbors would laugh at the names we picked. I wanted to make my speckled sussex (brown sugar) Dottie but my bf said ā€œnot uh, i already picked her nameā€

My adult sons wanted to name my girls things like "Fricasee", "Bar-B-Q", "Cordon Bleuā€Š". šŸ™„šŸ˜„
I did allow my DIL to name one. That one is Gertie. She is the queen bee, and a real sweetheart. But, Addie Mae loves me best ā™”

Laney is short for Delaney, who was my favorite resident at the senior home I used to work at ā™”

Will the smell of paint bother the chickens? They do peck at the roosts now and then. Is it ok to eat the paint flakes? Sorry to be a party poop!!! haha
We use Behr from Home Depot or Sherwin Williams and any light paint odor I find disipates quickly. My chickens don't peck at the roosts and there shouldnt/won't be paint flakes for many years. Some people don't paint the roost bars and make them removeable so they can be taken out and scrubbed down occasionally. I'll probably be making mine removeable this summer for this reason. I also see people line the coop walls with empty feed bags (stapled in place) instead of painting that can easily be changed out when a cleaning is needed---great way to recycle those sturdy bags. For me, it's all about ease of cleaning and I feel the coop will be easier to clean and scrub down when it's painted.
