In NZ this is the colour of what is called lavender araucanas here, (which is not the same as araucanas in other countries) which is a more solid lavender colourand very popular, your girl is such a pretty fairy like colour. I think very pretty!

Got this one locally out of hatched eggs sold to me as Ameraucana. Been told it's not an Ameraucana, so guesses are EE. Thanks all for the info, I was guessing girl too, which makes me very happy.
Even if she was Ameracauna- lavendar is not an accepted color yet- so some people would call her an EE or a "project ameracauna"
She's lovely! Congrats!
a bird does not have to be a recognized color to be condidered that breed, what would you call a blue splangled OE? a mutt? they are not recognized but they are still a color.

That's what I was saying- even if she is true ameracauna- some people would call her an EE or project bird until the color is accepted. There are plenty of colors that are accepted in other countries, but not in the US yet. I don't think color should justify being called a mutt- but some people do.
I'd definately hold on to that bird.
