Here is my mystery Silkie roo, Mozart, all grown up. He hatched from a blue hen and a black rooster. I cannot for the life of me figure out what color he is. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

i have a young silkie that hatched out dark blue and is now developing some gold around the neck. She hatched from a splash roo and (probably) our black showgirl. But the black showgirl has some grey in her chest and some partridge coloring on the tips of her wings. The batch she came from hatched out two columbians, two whites, and her. The columbian roo from that group went on to make a partridge baby with his white girlfriend. i think it's interesting having the various odd colors, but probably not good if you are breeding for show.

Anyhow, that's a very pretty roo.

Probably not a color that would apply to a silkie but he looks like he's turning into a golden duckwing.
