Hi Samisue,

From the picture it appears to be a blue with lavender splash! Very pretty!
??? No such thing. Does not appear to be expressing lavender at all. Probably a splash, but there may be some penciling (grey) going on as well.

I have Blue Silkies. I also have Black-Blue, Black, Buff, White, Partridge, and Lavender Silkies. However, now looking at your picture again with better lighting, Sonoran Silkies is correct, your Silkie appears to be a Black Silkie, expressing Splashes of Lavender (or call it grey).

I have a Black Silkie expressing Lavender around the crest, and I have a Splash Silkie with it's base color as Lavender expressing the splashes in Black. Silkies are fun and they come in all types and all colors. Silkie genetics work like all other poultry color genetics.

I might add that some of the colors are not yet recognized as standard, but if you do a search for Silkie images, you will find all sorts of colors, patterns, etc. The best part about it, is that Silkies are special no matter what the color. You have a beautiful colored Silkie. Enjoy!
