Ok, so yesterday we went to the feed store, and they had Naked necks. Not my favorite, but my boys all wanted 1. So they each picked out 1 all different colors so it would be easy to tell them apart. Anyway know we have 1 black, 1 buff and then there is the one I'm not sure of.

please excuse the poop as she (hopefully) decided to go just as I took the picture.

I've tried finding pictures of turken chicks to compare to, but not having much luck. Does anyone have pics of turken chicks especially ones like mine?

BTW: That was my 2000th post!

I don't have any pictures, but I had 2 with that light coloring. One turned out to be what I called Fawn, a sand color lighter than Buff. The other was the sand color with darker highlights, my absolute favorite Rooster yet. Unfortunately Sir Lancelot broke his leg and it would not heal properly, so I put him down last year. Could't stant to watch him shiver in pain. None of his son's coloring were anything like him. Fawn and Sir Lancelots daughter though is White with a Peach blush on her shoulders that is fading as she ages. I no longer keep a Turken Roo so there will be no more of this line. Your chick does look like Sir Lancelot did.

Yes I have Red Turkens, but their coloring was a bit darker than these others as chicks.

Have fun with you balls of fluff. My granddaughter loves my Turkens cause they will stop and bow down for her to pet. They are big birds but are gentle and smart and will train you well I am sure, just like mine did me.

Thanks Buttercup, they are funny looking and I'll guess they will grow on me. Glad to hear they are gentle. We have a friend who rescued a turken roo from the local animal shelther. He is crazy and is a very amourous boy! Sorry to hear about Sir Lancelot. Seems we always lose our favorites

Still looking for pics of turken chicks especially ones close to the color of mine. Thanks!

It could turn out red, but not always. The dark feather in the chick could turn out black tips on the wing feathers if it does turn red.
I have had Turkens in the past and sometimes their colors are totally different than when they were babies.
