What color is this Wyandotte?

Its a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, I dont think its as Sussex due ti the rosecomb

even though she is a BLRW I would like to say that if she was mixed with a SS she would still have a RC.

This is true, she could be a cross between a single comb and a rose comb and still have a rose comb.

I actually thing she may be crossed with a BLRW and a RIR, I just saw pics of this cross on the Wyandotte forum and they looked pretty much like that. A Speckled Sussex could be possible instead of a RIR, but remember that the mottleing in the speckled Sussex is a recessive gene and wouldn't show in an F1 cross bird, plus, her spots are blue anyway, not white. either way in the case or a speckled Sussex F1 cross, it would look the same as a RIR cross, they are both red columbian, the SS just has mottling. So I would say the hen is a cross of a BLRW and a RIR or SS.

yes they do, the hen in my avatar is a splash BLRw

Thank you , I thought they must . Beautifully colored bird in your avatar ! Since splash sometimes replaces only part of the blue , I believe we may be looking at a hatchery quality BLR splash Wyandotte . The lacing on them is often indistinct or incomplete ; and only a few feathers of the blue tail and the ends of a few poorly laced feathers are showing the white , splash effect . A test breeding could proove or disproove this theory .
Edt: I guess I should have said Spash BLRW

here is the final result after endless culling and 5 generations of breeding the F2s back to the BLRWs.....
I think the RIR cross is a great tool if you are trying to improve the red in your BLRWs, but you need to start with SQ RIR and the best BLRWs you can find.
