Please help! I have looked on the internet for a couple of weeks now trying to figure this out! These are my two favorite chickens and I would like to be able to describe them better when talking about them.

Hope these picture help, Hawk is very camera shy!

Thanks in advance,

those are easter eggers, not ameraucanas. Most hatcheries call them ameraucanas but they do not fit the breed's standard.

Yes, they are EEs. EEs are cross breed chickens with the green egg gene. Hatcheries sell them as Amaracaunas, which is false advertisement.

If you really want to describe them well, first call them Easter Eggers. Next, since they're Easter Eggers there is no technical name for the color they have but the closest you could do with is describing your hen as BBR (black breasted red) and the rooster as a Splash Duckwing. (he's a lot like mine, in which I believe it is either poor golden duckwing genetics, or a cross of a white and a golden duckwing)
