I've started getting these chicks from my partridge pen. They look like partridges when born except they have a solid and light colored head. They start losing their partridge stripes and turn into these. Most of my partridges look like actual partridges.

Is this gray? What is the genetics behind gray?

This one is a bit younger and doesn't have such a true gray color on the body. It still has some partridge coloring in certain light.

I have a bunch more in the nursery that are still chicks. Someone in that partridge (or some pairing... I have a lot in there) are throwing these? I like them!

The top one looks like a grey to me; the second one sorta does, but I'm not sure about that bit of brownish tint in her feathers

The brown is from autosomal red.
