What color to paint inside of coop?

Brilliant! I had my rooster pick the Eglu color by having him peck at the keyboard. Silly boy chose pink. He knew I wanted a pink Eglu.

You know, our short-lived "Indian Summer"--highs in the 60's to 70's in the Midwest this week--will be gone in a few days. I suggest you go with white latex primer, white latex paint. Go back next spring and change the color then, if you want to.

I'm finishing painting my enclosed, unheated front porch this week. DD and I are 1/2 done, and the storm window and the front house door will be done by Wednesday. I'm R E A L L Y pushing it painting THIS LATE. I'm also painting two horse training poles with oil-based paint. I'm making them from two clothesline poles that have damage on the top, so they can't be used for that anymore. I started Friday with white oil-based. It took until late Saturday afternoon with temps in the 70's, for them to dry, 1st coat. Second coat will be the black stripes. They probably won't be ready for any use for another week. The quality of THIS job is not important, but I'm recycling my materials.

Consider this: the more light you give your chickens, the more egg-laying they will do. Sooo, how about white or pastel shades for the inside of the coop? Good luck!

No no, chickens (like most or all birds) have excellent color vision. That is the POINT of all the bright colorful plumage

They are brilliant birds! But are they colorblind?

They see in color and they know how to read! I expected my rooster to pick a red Eglu but he really wanted pink.

Gabby really liked the idea of getting paint color samples and letting her chickens pick the color. First I think we will prime the coop and then see how the weather goes. This past weekend was the nicest we have had for over a month but the coop is not fully done. We told her she can paint the front of her coop anyway she wants in spring, she is already planning.

I would go with Peach, Mauve, or a Light Burgandy because those are MY favorite colors. What are Gabby's favorite colors. I'm quite certain her chickens will want to live in a hen house painted in a color she likes.

I went to the county dump where they have free paint and I picked a light color that there was a couple of gallons of. I don't know if the dump is as wonderful in other places as it is here.
