What color will my silkie chicks be?

We have a blue silkie named Caroline who is sitting on 4 silkie eggs. She is their mother and a black silkie named Dot is their father. What colors will the chicks be? Will they be sex linked? How do you get sex linked chicks?

Not sex linked, and they will hatch black and blue. There are two way to get sex links, red or black, and there's no way to do it with a black silkie over a blue silkie. You can either put a gold factor male over a silver factor female of any breed to get red sex links, or for black sex links you can put just about any color rooster except white or barred over a barred hen of any breed.
