What color will this chick be as an adult?

Does anyone know what color this is?

I was told if I bread a Salmon Faverolles to a Black Copper Marans that likely I would get all black chicks.

Which is what I wanted because darker colored birds are harder to see for predators.

When they hatched, I thought they were all black but now they're becoming colorful.

What color is this?

Can you get a picture of the back, or whole chick?

Salmon Faverolles are Silver Wheaten/Autosomal Red.

Black Copper Marans are Red Birchen.

So, I'd expect black chicks from this mix.

Pictures of the parents to help confirm breeds, & colors will be helpful too. Sometimes there's those who misidentify breeds they have. Not saying you did.

Ok I get it! Let me find some pics. Mama is a big black Marans hen who lays about a 5 colored egg. The rooster in the back is Ulric. He's a Faverolles rooster. Also....I know it's bred, not bread. Sheesh. Thanks for the replies.

I have three that looked like this as a chick. 1 is 6 weeks old-blue with some brown-ish hues. 1 is a year old- blue. 1 is around 6 months old-brown with gold neck feathers and patterns on their back.

Here is Ewok at 7 days old. Hopefully she'll lay an egg with a purplish bloom and be part of my olive egger program. I'll post as she gets older and we'll see how she turns out. Looks like she'll have a beard and feathered legs. Don't know about what color this is but all my Marans/Fav mixes are this color and all with beards and leg feathers. The hen is an over melanized black copper Marans hen that might possibly be mixed with Australorp. The rooster is a Salmon Faverolles.

Once everyone grows up, I plan on putting the Marans mixes under a lavender Ameraucana rooster to make olive eggers.

The roosters I get I'm not sure what to do with.... We do have a bachelor pad for extra boys so I guess they'll probably go there.

So I can’t for sure say this as I’ve only done it once, but in my one batch experience from breeding a salmon favorelle hen to a lavender Orpington roo the 2 girls where black with little white on them, and the roo was brown with a bit of white on him. Now idk how much this differs from breed to breed, but if you could update this when it’s older and yk the breed I would greatly appreciate it! I just hatched out another salmon favorelle mix and it’s actually dark with more white on it so I’m wondering if the white is the identifier for the boys or if it’s the lighter brown color like yours and my first roo that makes it a boy.

At this moment I am thinking it is the white markings, so I would assume yours is a girl, but my theory tester just hatched this morning so can’t 100% confirm.

Purebred Faverolles and Faverolles/Marans mixes. All the favs are yellow 🟡🟡🟡 and all the mixes are dark brown rather than black. I'll post back next week to show you all how the colors look.
