What color would they produce?

If I bred one of my lavender Ameraucana hens to my Blue Ameraucana Rooster, what colors could they produce? I think that it should be 50% black and 50% blue but I'm not 100% sure.

you can tell the colour of egg by looking at thier ear holes if the area is white it will lay white if it is red then brown or if it is of any other colour then it may blue , green , black or may be any other colour

I already know the color of eggs that they lay, since they are pure Ameraucanas they lay blue eggs. I was asking what color their offspring would be if I bred my blue rooster to my lavender hen.

The earlobe thing is false. Earlobe colour doesn't have an impact on eggshell colour.

Regarding your Ameraucana, they would produce black and blue chicks, split for Lavender. Lavender requires two copies to express, one from each parent. Many breeders of blue and lavender choose to breed the colours separately and avoid the confusion that can come with blue, lavender and splash chicks hatching together; they can look very similar. As Lavender is a recessive, it can also hide in a line. I'm currently trying to breed it out of my BBS Araucana, without much success thus far.

They will all carry one version of the lavender gene. (Lav/lav)

Is Lavender a recognized variety of Ameraucana? If not, one is an Easter Egger. In another thread, you said you knew quite a bit about poultry genetics. I am not seeing that. I am not discouraging you from asking questions.

Lavender is not a recognized variety of Ameraucana by the APA yet because it is a fairly new variety, but it does breed true. I'm asking for what others think to verify.
