What color?

So I'm in the process of building this coop but just can't think of what color to paint it. I do want it painted for sure and I really only want to deal with one color. So far all I can come up with is white. What color would you paint it?

if you really only want to do one color, i'd varnish it instead of paint it...maybe with a fairly light wood stain first.

I would go with something neutral or something bright, depending on your tastes. You can't go wrong with white.

I like red, that's what my coop is, but it also has white trim

I vote for varnish or barn red as well.

The dog house I bought and turned into my banty coop/tractor came white. I didn't like it. It was just a plain old white box with a roof.

I painted it a happy red and left the white trim.

Ok, maybe that's not what you were looking for.

Your coop fits so nicely in your yard.. do you want it to stand out or blend in?

If you want it to stand out then a bright blue or red would look nice.

If you want it to blend in then a tan base with forest green trim would look nice.

Of course... you need to decide what color(s) you want to look out and see everyday. As you already know... there are a cazillion colors to chose from. (That's probably why you asked for ideas, huh?

I would stain it mahogany (sp?). I just think that'd look cool

White will look nice.

If it was in my yard, I would pick lilac purple! The color looks pretty next to all the greens and flowers of my garden and it is bright and cheery.

Otherwise, if I was feeling conservative, I would pick chocolate brown to hide any stains the chickens make.
