What color?

Hmm....very good suggestions. I would do red if I did white trim. But I think all red might look off. I've done trim on my last two coops and it's the part I hate the most. I'm still torn on colors. The purple suggestions registers w/me for some reason. Maybe I'll go for a muted lavendar so it both stands out yet blends w/the plants and flowers?

I agree-keep it light and bright-that's my vote! BTW, love that coop-it rocks!

Mine is red, but if I painted it over again, I'd do indigo blue with yellow doors and trim, the oppisit of my house. I wouldn't do white, it might get poopy looking down around the bottom.

I would stain it with Behr's semi-transparent stain (Home Depot). I chose redwood and love the colour - it brings colour without standing out to much and blends in with my wooded back yard beautifully. You can check out my BYC page at the left to see the colour. Love that design!

We are still "varmint proofing" our coop (You can see mine on my BYC page, too.) I was going to leave it natural, but not anymore!!!!

I love that color!!! I wanted mine to stay "woody" looking, but this red is going to make it shine!!!
We always shop Lowe's mess up paints, too. That was what I was planning on doing, but WOW! I love that red coop color!

The red stain coop is very pretty. I really like the heart windows. Sooooo cute. Where did you find those anyway?
However, I think I'm going to shy away from stain. I prefer working w/paint and I've always loved finding just the right color. Also, I'm working w/two different kinds (colors) of wood and would want everything to look uniform.
If it helps, my house is a seafoam green color w/white trim, so barn red would not really go. I have a small yard so it will be next to the house and would like some level of coordination in colors. Right now my coop is dark lavendar w/white trim. I want a new color though for this one
