what colored chickens do I mix to get red

could you guys tell me what colors of chickens do I mix to get a red chicken?

well I would mix black ameraucana and buff ameraucana would that work?

Nope, it won't work. You can't mix breed colors like paint. You'd probably get black birds with red/gold/buff in their hackles and saddle areas.

I think you have to start out with red, a wild type (black breasted red), or wheaten base.
