I swear I read somewhere that Rouens laid pale green eggs, and Runners white ones. I have 2 Rouen ducks and 1 Fawn/White Indian Runner. Almost every day for 4 months I got 3 eggs, 2 pale green and 1 white. So when some hatched I thought I knew who was crossed with whom.

However, since I had my runner and the ducklings cooped up in the garage and the Rouens were outside, I have been finding 1 green and 1 white outside. They can't be the runners. Does this mean one of my Rouens is not purebred? Or do I have my facts mixed up?

I sure got some interesting colored ducklings. The daddies are either a rouen or a Pekin or both.

Well I just put a bunch of runner eggs in the bator and they were a pale green.

Well, that explains why there was one big green egg, 1 big white egg and 1 small green egg. I couldn't figure out why one rouen's green egg would be so much smaller than the other's.

And how that huge white egg came out of that little runner...it didn't!
