I'm buying two Button Quail, and I'm trying to figure out how the female is going to look all grown up. She is four weeks old, I believe. Here's some pics.
How exactly was it determined that she is female? I'm not saying she's not, but she's a tuxedo and they often don't show any clear signs of their sex. She might also be red breasted though, and in that case her back feathers will have a different pattern than those of a male - but at 4 weeks, there is a chance a male red breasted will still have the female pattern.
I'm having a hard time telling if there is any yellow or brown in her back feathers or if they are all blue/gray/black/white? If the latter is the case, she is a silver.
She'll probably look pretty similar to what she does now, once she's grown up. The yellow down at the sides of her head will turn into white feathers, but other than that, the difference should be minimal.
