What colour will he/she get?

Hello all, this is one of our four "chicklings" born on 17 May. Her/his father is a Buff Cochin Bantam (with some white spots), the mother is our White or our Red Cochin Bantam.

I'm quite curious about the colour she/he'll get...

The mother of the chick is most likely the red. It should feather out a dark buff.

I have crossed buffs & reds- but my chicks were ginger-color, not chipmunk. Are you sure about the mom? Maybe there was some brahma or columbian or game in there somewhere?

I'd keep her to cross with a buff. Beautiful!

Our red hen has some black hidden spots and stripes in her feathers, quite sure she's the mommy. (The only other possibility is our white hen but then the chicks would have been much paler.) She's the only chipmunk , the other three out of this combination were born ginger like yours.

She already left to her new home together with her sister, a beautiful piece of land that they're sharing with a gorgeous blue roo!

Looks like I would describe as a Red Partridge, if there is such a thing.
