I googled d'uccle chicks and I totally see what you mean. They were sold to me as bantam cochin. I suppose time will tell!

Thank you, your chick is gorgeous! It would be great if you could also update with photos of your chick so I can see something at similar age for comparison.

Keep in mind that Mille Fleur is a color pattern and not a breed. Cochins can have the Mille Fleur coloring. These feather site.com pages should help.

In my experience, young birds with the Mille Fleur coloring don't really get impressive until their second year, when they have adult feathering. Also, the white sections of Mille Fleur coloring tend to get larger with each molt, so that older birds appear much whiter than young adult birds.
