We had 4 muscovy babies hatch yesterday. We have one yellow one and 3 grey with some yellow on their chest. The mom passed away but i have a pic of her. A friend is going to take a couple and we will keep a couple. Just wondering if the yellow one will be white or coule he end up the same colour as the mom? I don’t know what colour she would have been called. I will post a pic of her and dad. I am assuming the grey ones will be like dad given he is grey and white.

The mom looks like a chocolate with some white, the dad is pied. The yellow baby will be white, the two darker ones will turn out like mom.

Both of the parents look to be chocolate pied.
Looks like you might have some lavender or lilac babies in addition to the white? As my chocolates looked a bit different as babies and are chocolate pied females - and a black pied drake.
@learycow can help figure out the future colors.
Here is their website too where duck and duckling colors are listed.

The mom could also have been a lilac fawn color - hard to tell with the sunlight directly on her - but take a look at this site as well: http://dudamobile.muscovy.us/?url=http://muscovy.us/home/basics#2751
Whatever, they turn out to be - they are cute now. :love

We have chocolate female and she is much darker then the mom. I will post another pic of her in different light. I have a feeling she is lilac or fawn but i am so new to ducks that all the colour variations are confusing. So is the dad considered a chocolate pied? He is grey but does have some light brown through him. I will find another picture of him to. Since our friend is taking a couple i would really like to keep one that ends up the same colour as their mom was. There is one grey one that is lighter then the other 2 so i am thinking she might end up as close to Jane’s colour as we can get. We are going to call her Little Jane...let’s hope it’s a female...lol
I noticed these babies seem to hop instead of waddle. They are hopping all over the brooder. They also don’t seem to be as good on their feet as the rouen/hinny babies were but they are much more assertive. Interesting to see the differences in the breeds.
Thanks for all your help

Ah, the sunlight pics must have really thrown us off.
Is the mom the one in the middle and dad on the left?

If you want a duckling that will look like the mom, you want to go with one of those with the darker shade as the yellow one is definitely going to be white.
However, not sure if you would get a female that way if that is what you are looking for.
My muscovy ducklings hopped for a bit.

FWIW, every chick that was yellow @ hatch turned white. Not sure it's the same with ducks.
