What COOL looking geese!!!

That may be so but they are very good to people and good to chickens and yea they are known for fighting geese but the pair i had was like any other pair the steinbacher gander just won every fight thats it! And they were my only geese that actually attacked off the foxes and the babies are fast growers and were very tame and sold 3 babies and never got anymore after coz my uncle decided to make me feel better by killing a couple of geese and i was happy until he had killed my steinbacher gander :( i never saw any steinbachers for sale after that and they made my flock stand out and people always asked me if i sold those blue geese which were steinbachers and i was looking forward in breeding em but couldent so thats why i got my africans to make me happier :D

Well I´m glad I don´t have an uncle like that! How terribly disappointing for you. I´m sure you´d be able to get some more, you know...
Now, the fact that they are fighting geese means, of course, that they´re only suitable for certain situations. Backyarders with a collection of all sorts may not get on too well.
By the way, I think they´re stunningly beautiful.

Hahaha and my uncle is very posh and didnt know how to kill geese haha and killed the geese by standing on the goosese neck until it died haha poor geese and he said he didnt wanba wver do it again ! I wasent going to let him anyway and i never had problems with steinbachers they are my favorite geese and always will be :D
foxes didnt come near my flock those years and then the gander died (brutelly murdered) and foxes came again but ive guineafowl to warn my dogs now but yea i will diffently get steinbachers if i see them for sale in ireland

I posted on the other thread, try Preloved ads, Bird trader and Ashtonwaterfowl at times may have extra birds,( though they may be a bit more expensive, I reckon)

Those poor geese. I can´t believe anyone who wasn´t absolutley dying of hunger could do that!

haha yea poor geese but my uncle is in holland so i dont need to worry annd i only buy geese in the republic of ireland but steinbachers are so rare its annoying even tho america has barely steinbachers :-/
But i dont mind ganders fighting its cool in a way .
And in turkey goose fighting is a new sport since 2009 .its quite popular but they have different geese not steinbachers and in russia they have goose fights only in winter as a tradition ,while the people in turkey do it for gambling and anytime of the year

Surely it´s not difficult to get hatching Steinbacher eggs or goslings from England? After all, the breed developed in Europe....
I can understand why they´re more rare in the US, but they´re available in England...
