Hi, so i have a really terrible coop and i neeed to get a new one. I am debating on building one for just buying one. I need to keep the cost on a low side. Any ideas for a coop i should buy/make? I need a coop big enough for 2-4 chickens? I need it to have either a slanted roof or a pointed roof because i’m in a very cold area. it also has to be accessible on only one side. Like i said, i’m in a very cold area so it has to do good in snow. Thank you! :bow:fl

I used these plans and I'm very happy with my coop.

I never saw any coop available for purchase that seemed strong enough to be worthwhile except for the Cadillac ones that went for thousands of dollars + hundreds in shipping costs.

The above plans can be modified and for $10 he includes the parts list and good details.

I do have many more birds, but even with a tiny flock, I think a walk-in shed type building is best. It can multitask too! Sometimes craigs list has garden sheds, child's play houses or something similar that can be modified for birds.
A hoop house made with cattle panels can be made secure enough too.
Spend on something like those, or build from scratch, rather than one of those tiny underbuilt things available out there.
