What could do this??? (graphic story)

Tom cats do kill kittens of other Toms. Racoons could be eating them but wouldnt usually leave them in the yard. The average life span of an outdoor cat is 9 months. Please consider spaying the mother cat.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't the dogs. They don't have enough teeth between the two of them to eat a chicken nugget. It could be one of the wild cats that lurk. They have challenged my dogs before and the dogs are terrified of them.

I moved the baby inside and it is still ok. The mother won't have much to do with it, though. I lured her in with some canned cat food this evening and it nursed while she ate. She took off again as soon as she was done. I hope it can hang on for another week...it seems interested in moist food and could probably eat regular food.
