What could this be?

I went to a new lake today and found this goose that looks really bad. I feel so bad for him. His one foot looks crippled and his feathers look bad. I wonder how this happened?

Could've been stepped on as a baby, caught in fishing line at some point, hit by a car, or a birth defect. Nature can be cruel
Nothing much you can do, seeing as it's an adult it must've adapted to living this way. I doubt he even notices his foot is different than other geese.

Wow that foot is a mess. Like husker said, he's adapted since he made it this far.

Call fish and wild life again I keep saying this but they know how to help injured wild birds. A snapping turtle could have gotten hold of his foot too.

Looks like it may have gotten attacked. Nature will sort it out.
