What could this possibly be? *UPDATED: It's mites, still have a few Q's

Oh also, I'd really like to worm all of them still. Sounds like a good thing to do.
Or, just stick cayenne pepper in their water, as it seems they have no worms as of now?
Maybe a little help on this as well?

DE is Diamaceous Earth. Tiny sharp rocks in the powder form that when applied to the coop, nest boxes, or the bird, cuts the exoskeletal system of the mites. And I suggest you do a complete cleaning of the coop, under the roost bars, the floors, nest boxes, ect...You will need to dust the bird, and then repeat in 5 - 7 days for hatching eggs. Do the same in the coop. You can also use permethrin spray in the coop or on the bird. You can get that in the parrot section in most pet stores.

Pick up some Wazine at the feed store. It is put in the water for one full day. That will take care of the intestinal worms she might have. You can move on to the harder stuff if the Wazine doesn't do the trick.

"Her crop looks a little bloated, and feels squishier than usual."

Could be sour crop. She might not be eating properly. Check her for bad breath and also see if her crop is empty in the morning as this link says:

I would NOT invert the chicken as some webpages say, as this could cause the chicken to aspirate. You can very gently do crop massage and feed yogurt/ apple cider vinegar in water.

see post #5

This is not to say that she might not have worms- always a good idea to consider worms.

There are many old threads on sour crop if you do a search of BYC if you are interested.

Thanks so much for the help...again! (I sound like a parrot, but I'm pretty much shaking right now; I don't want anything to happen to my baby Flor)

One last question, I believe...Food grade DE, where can I get it? Only at feed stores, or is it sold at places like Petco? (My feed store is closed until tomorrow. :C )

Thanks for the info on sour crop. It's mites this time (unless it's some horrific combination of worms, mites, and other such curses), but I appreciate the suggestion. Now I know what sour crop is. :)

"I'm a bit worried...do you think she can make it? It's apparently been three weeks now since her first signs of symptoms."

I haven't seen anything on how long chickens can last with mites...

I buy food-grade DE from the feed store, but it is also available online. I actually stopped buying it but that is where I bought it from.

DE is a good preventative for mites maybe- but not for treatment in my experience. I like Sevin dust (off-label, not approved for poultry anymore) and Poultry Dust (permethrin) available at the feed store.

Don't forget to retreat every week until gone, and to toss all bedding EACH time you treat, including in the nestboxes. Treat the coop with some permethrin spray (feed store)- dilute first and retreat every week until gone. You can even use the permethrin spray on the chickens with proper dilution if you don't like dust.

Here are the current recommendations:

http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/ig140

I treat my chickens every 4 months for mites and retreat in 7 days. They keep coming back because of the wild birds. So it depends on the mite load.
