"What crops can I grow the chicken won't destroy?"

I am new to chicken and they love my potted plants just for the soft soil. My question is what crops can be grown with free ranging chicken in the area that will not be destroyed?

So far they pretty much trash everything I plant and if it is seed it doesn't even root.

That's pretty much how your gardening season is going to go. You either have to fence them in, or the plants in!

That's my experience! Today I discovered they even turned over the paltry moss on a small scrap of ground far from their coop to find what they can find.
