I'm looking into raising a couple of rare breeds but nothing too rare. Just wondering what your opinions are on what is popular now. I already have some French Black Copper Marans. I live in the northern/central California area if that makes any difference. Thanks for any help!

Quote: dragonlady has a couple of trios of her fabulous Buff Orpingtons available (southern US). She posted it yesterday on the BYC Heritage Large Fowl thread, I think it was Her birds are fab and heritage, but not too rare. She has been raising poultry for over 50 years. Also might try Waltz's Ark Ranch in Co for Light Sussex, http://www.naturalark.com/sussex.html
He has a Canadian strain , an Aussie strain, and American/ Aussie mix strain of Light Sussex. Then there is Walt Leonard in NorCal, He has stunning show birds in heritage breeds.
