WHAT DAY ?CAN YOU START...

Not really the same thing but an incubator can be used as a hatcher. A hatcher doesnt have turning trays. But you dont need a hatcher if your eggs are due to hatch on the same day.

This is my first hatch and I have dark brown eggs from my RIRs. They are harder to candle than lighter colored eggs. I tried to candle on day 7 and could not tell a thing. I candled again on day 9 and could see the little ones swimming around in 24 out of 29. So if you have light colored or white eggs try it on day 7, dark colored eggs wait till day 9 or 10. If you are not sure about what you see wait a day or two and try again.

Usually around day 4 or 5 I can see something. Most wait though because you can't always see something then especially with larger or darker shelled eggs. It's best not to make any decisions until day 10.
