what day did your chicks hatch under a broody

hi i have a broody hen that ate two eggs one was not fertile and the other was on day 18 the chick had stopped growing i have one egg under her on day 20 ive incubated eggs before but not with a broody hen what day did your chicks hatch under a broody hen

For chickens they usually internally pip on day 18 and hatch on days 20-22. Try candling it to see if it's internally pipped or not or if you can see any movement in the egg.

I currently have 2 eggs under my first time broody. She had 5 originally. 1 was infertile and she ate 2 of her eggs.....I am hoping because they were quitters! Tomorrow is day 20! good luck hope they hatch soon this is my broodys first time having chicks too she had gone broody two other times but the bigger hens higher in the pecking order broke her both times but this time she has gotten mean to them and has finally stud up too them she is the lowest in the pecking order and is always getting pecked on i put three eggs under my broody one was infertile one had a air cell that took up the whole half of the egg and i think the she may have died on day 14 on day 18 she had eaten the egg this one was the only egg she had left and she wanted a baby so bad i felt bad for her she had a very hard brood ants and there was something wrong with her comb but she is much better know and the ants are gone and her chick hatched today she is very happy so am i im so glad she got the baby shes always wanted i hope your broody gets her babys soon good luck

I'm glad to hear that she hatched a chick! So sorry that she went through such a tough brood.

yes this is her thanks she is doing much better know her comb has cleared up very well and she has finally got her chick
