I don't know a bunch about turkey breeds, but I'm saying hens, and I think they are crosses. Reminded me of chocolate/ royal palm cross.

I was out working in and near the coops today and got to see and hear them a lot. I agree with everyone who said they are both hens. Their vocals sound just like the noises my husband and I try to make on our "hen" turkey calls.

I also re-examined my recollection of when I released them into the coop. Stuffing and Gravy, who display and try to dominate one another, looked at the new arrivals and just sort of ignored them. I figured maybe they thought the new birds were to young/small to be a threat. It appears they were having the classic teenage boy panic attack of "girls, OMG girls! What do I do? GIRLS!!" They were still a little dumb struck this morning.

Now I'll have to try and find Cranberry and Sweet Potato a boyfriend who can get the job done (and will be around after thanksgiving!) so I can raise my own baby turkeys.
