What did my hen get into??

She got pooped on.
She probably lost her roosting spot to a more dominant hen and slept under them. Sometimes the ones at the bottom of the pecking order doesn't get to roost. You might want to add another roosting spot that is too low to be appealing to the 'big shots'.

She must have lost it to our rooster because she is the most dominant hen. We have a cage for our little chicks in the coop so she probably slept in there and someone who was sleeping on the cage pooped on her.

You might want to re-examine your roost setup to see if they can be arranged to avoid this.
