What did you do in the garden today?

So yesterday I saw an opossum feeding underneath one of our bird feeders, in the middle of the day! I was so surprised, since they are nocturnal animals. I guess the warmer weather (40+ degrees) brought him out. I was alone at the time, and the only weapon I could have used was my revolver, but I haven't practiced shooting for awhile, and didn't feel confident firing a gun right next to the house, so it got away. That is the first opossum we have ever seen here. Now I'm feeling nervous for our chickens, though their coop is pretty well-fortified.

:gigwell I need to rethink the work I had planned for summer. My son is 16 and WAS an only child...... :ya
Congratulations @Mama Runner lovely news! It is interesting having big gap families but so lovely as well (love seeing our little one curled up with his big gangly nearly 17 brother or trying to attack his knees lol!).

Was so mild this morning it felt like someone had turned a heater on when I walked outside! I was on a big batch cooking mission so didn't get much time out there - only managed to weed and mulch around my rhubarb - but it looks nice :D

Have hubby give you a follow up lesson with the revolver. In the mean time, if you see the possum come back, you could go into attack mode with a sharp spade. Even better than that, get a live trap and catch him. I hear they are dumber than dirt.
