What did you do in the garden today?

Sometimes wish I grew up a little further out on small farm so I had even more self sufficient knowledge then then the great amount my mom instilled but at the same time I love learning and expanding my knowledge and constantly trying my hand in something new and teaching my daughter the same. (sometimes trying to take on too much) so much to do and learn!

Nice walkway! Also, I had no idea you could gender-reassign trees---COOL! :)

Got nothing done in the garden yesterday, though I did pick a pound of peas to go with the meatloaf and taters for dinner. And the meatloaf used my eggs, onions, thyme and parsley, too! My friends' grass-fed beef. I felt pretty good about that.
You definitely should feel good about that. I know I would. And I but you taste buds were just as pleased. YUM!

My cousin says when she comes to visit it reminds her of when she lived in Oklahoma for a few years when she was younger. Always wanted to explore places west of me ... seem so beautiful there national and state parks out that way I’d love to see but somehow never make it past the blue ridge mountains. As much as I want to explore I get homesick for my homestead very easily
I backpacked in the Blue Ridge Mountains once! It is spectacularly gorgeous! The closest thing we have to that is the Ouachitas, which is where we love camping most.

Back off country road then down side dirt road made sure it would quiet for a long while. I grew up in town but extremely small town at the time but like everything and grew up so I headed further out. My sister who lives in the city laughs about driving through miles of corn tunnels to get to my hole in the woods. But loves the peace. 3/4 acre sounds like enough to do what you love. It would be for me except we were gifted goats for our wedding and I’ve been in love ever since. Sometimes I feel in need more land cause I need more goats in my life. Haha

Being 58 know I cannot should not have a farm again my body would not allow me to care for them correctly anymore smart enough to admit that but glad you are able to have yours

I love the Blue Ridge Mountains, and all of that area up there! The waterfalls in Dupont State Forest are beautiful, and Hot Springs is an excellent little town on the Appalachian Trail.

Got the plywood cut before the rain came in, and all the wood is safe and dry in the shed. Now the weather peeps are saying we *may* have a dry day on Sunday. Here's hoping!

Hobby farm keeps me sane and I’m glad we can do it for now. I know one day I’ll have to scale back but for now I love it! Even after scaling back I’m sure I’ll still be trying to learn new hands on things... just more manageable I love constantly learning new things Grinding grains for homeade bread.. trying more natural dyes... improving sewing and macrame skills..... so much to learn and explore in life! My husband says you can’t do it all... but I’m still gonna try

Daughter and I go there regularly. Only takes a little over an hour to get there so we can even just go on a day hike or 1 night camping trip and I don’t get homestead sick. Daughter and I had our vision on a state park in NC this summer. Can’t remember the name at the moment
