What did you do in the garden today?

I took cuttings from my sweet lime and processed them to root. I wish the threads would list most recent first instead of oldest and you have to go to the end and see the most recent.

either way glad you joined the garden thread... love aloe plants have to start over with mine hard on indoor plants

Wow. Those photos are great. Beautiful. I've not tried to grow chia. Hmm. Those leaves look tasty. I have lemon grass, two types in 1 gallon pots. I give them away to my husbands co-workers at the end of the year. I've never tried to grow luffa but I swear by aloe. Third degree sunburns--constant reapplication of aloe--gone! On the other hand, any thoughts on growing out small trees, etc. for arbor day, first Sat. of Nov. here on Oahu? Seeds, anyone? It's complicated but I am in a position where I think that to provide for the folks on my side of the island, I'll have to grow these out myself. I believe I only have space for about 60 or so trees in 1 to 3 gallon pots--so not much space. I've been asking family and friends so we'll see. I'm also looking at diversity because not everyone likes the same thing. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

My computer is broken! :( I ripped out the old tomatoes, though, and gathered some HIGHLY suggestive radishes from my garden this week. I have the last of the parsley drying and I have a large bunch of thyme that I am stripping and drying right now. I am wondering if it's easier to dry it first and then strip it. In any case, it's time to rake leaves and compost and straw and woodchips over the beds to put them to sleep for winter.

This year the fungal diseases were just maddening. I hope next year is a little more stable.

We plant in tires vines were in wading pool plastic kind intended to put it up had not managed BF put leaves in around the tires got some on my vines they are died from it

For some reason not had an alert for this thread for ages! Had some gorgeous weather so we've managed a new (lavender, agapanthus and sage) bed at the end of the stone barn - should look lovely in the summer. Need to get cracking with my onions and garic but need to chicken proof the bed first!
I have a large bunch of thyme
Should I cut my thyme right back so I can do this? Never quite know what to do with herbs before the winter (new gardener and living in another hemisphere doesn't always help!).
