What did you do in the garden today?

I worked until 3 today but hubs has been working on the nursery coop. He got the frame done, tomorrow he can put on the walls, roof and hwc and then it's just finishing touches and paint.

I finished restapling the shade cloth on the old picnic table and added a couple of pieces to the ends. Put the old garden gate on a shade structure so the chickens can get up there and have support. Moved an outdoor roost from the coop yard to the big yard under shade. I also started trimming the tree in theye coop yard but hubs will finish with the ladder tomorrow for me.

Busy time of year, eh?

I managed 3 more flats and three containers today. Everything else needs direct planted in the ground after frost, so after may 15th. So I have a while. Today was asperagus, cherry trees, tomatoes, lots of flowers.

I also moved 20 cubic feet of alpaca beans to the apple trees and then cleaned the winter stalls and overhang of 200 cubic feet of wet bedding. Blech. The trees will love it! LOL. My arms, not so much. LOL.

But it's clean again. Ag Lime is down, and all is smelling sweet again.

Rain for all this weekend. Nice as I can use the outdoor time off and get a little inside stuff and marketing done.

Saw my garden few days ago, neighbors chickens in it, they are getting annoying. Haven't been near my Egyptian walking onions yet but if they do... might have more than rocks tossed at them.. went over and checked on them after throwing rocks, look pretty good, already coming up tons of them!
Then today several inches of white heavy stuff, don't see garden anymore.. lol.

Wth are walking onions? I have enough trouble taking care of normal veggies. I sure as hell am not going to be chasing them down if they decide to go on a walk about!

Whilst I and the boys were wrestling that horrible cheap Club Cadet tiller, my wife the CEO (chicken executive officer) was tending to her baby plants and planning to force medicine down our hens' throats tonight.

The garden is now tilled, but still needs to be fenced. I'd take a pic of it full of dark soil, but night has fallen and I can't pick it up until tomorrow.

I woke up to a lovely coating of snow. :barnie It will melt however the winds will today so I'll be doing inside housework. I have a batch of sourdough bread dough to bake up. I might do some French bread as well. There's little time in Spring and summer to bake bread so I like to get as much baked up and into the freezer so I don't run out of bread. I'm hoping to get to the garden beds today and put down ashes where I'm planting peas and green beans.
