What did you do in the garden today?

Sunflowers can grow almost anywhere there's full sun, IMO. I had several that shot up in the yard this fall, from the hens or the wild birds. Go for it!

I planted seed for egg plant in the greenhouse. I have all my compost and soil amendments in. Getting ready for more plantings. I think I will add sugar snap peas too in the greenhouse.

I've spent the morning putting the gravel driveway back into the driveway. I'll never get all the stones out of the grass, but oh well. The winds are gusting to over 40 and kansas is burning the Flint hills, so breathing is interesting.

I have lots to do outside, and that's just all there is to it.

I checked on the cells on the way out. Lettuce (OC), the pinks and the sugar beets are up!

Quick lunch and back out the door again.

Rain and snow showers the next couple of days. OC 70 today.

Tree farm folks other side of major hill bought the property behind us had fires going 6 of them ended up in hospital they said I had pneumonia smoke brought it to the front .. will say they have now planted trees christmas trees all through it now

I'm beginning to think I did something wrong with my spinach seedlings. 2 different varieties. so far 2 cells of 1 variety have germinated and only 1 cell of the other variety. Not sure about the other cells. It has been 7 days so far so I'll wait it out a bit. Both packets of seed were purchased just a couple weeks ago..

Am out eradicating cedar trees in the hayfield and pasture. Damn things.
