What did you do in the garden today?

Checked pear grafts.
Some took, some didn't, some need more time.

hello long time since I wrote ,been getting going in the garden today got the raised beds filled ready for planting also built another one ,moved a load of junk from back garden to front lots more yet ready to be taken away in a few weeks ,put the tomato grow bags in place plants are coming on great on kitchen windowsill ,also cabbage ,want to grow beetroot might try carrots never done well with them might grow some beans always do well with them ,don,t know where my energy came from today but I hope it keeps up I,m not even aching as much as I usually do weather forecast is good for next few days so hope I,ll get all the big jobs done looking forward to the summer !

Finally got the "getting to know you suite" finished in the main chicken coop. I'm giving the resident hens a couple of days to adjust to the cage before adding new chickens. I finished the ladder roost days ago and last night all but one of the hens spent the night there. I can get back to gardening now, that is between rain showers. I went to HD and they've got more mulch on sale so I picked up 5 more bags. That should be plenty to finish off. I had forgotten that there were daylilies in the front garden around the azalea bush. Awesome. What I thought might be a daffodil was not. :( Not quite sure what it is yet. The lilac bush in front of my bedroom window has loads of blooms developing. After it finishes blooming I'll be trimming it up. The apple trees and the peach tree are starting to sprout leaves and one of my forsythia bushes is actually blooming already. Rain is forecasted for every day next week but fortunately it will be warmer so I can still plant. I was able to tackle the climbing rose bush in the front yard and attach it to a trellis and it is showing signs of life as well. I'm taking some time off today to escape chickens and mulch. Happy gardening! :frow

G'morning gardeners :frow

I got some hay spread in the mini coop yesterday prepping for the chicks. Today will be watering and weeding, oh joy! Gotta keep busy so I'm not sitting at the bator waiting for chicks to hatch.

I saw 2 tomatoes on one of the plants yesterday and the hay mulching has helped a lot with moisture retention in the garden. Good thing too, our temps are going up quickly, 99 is the projection for tomorrow. I am NOT ready for the heat although it's been pretty mild so far.

Have a great day everyone!
