What did you do in the garden today?

Blech! In bed with stomach virus and associated unpleasantness. :sick

Maybe it will be short-lived bc I must visually inspect the garden, of course. At least I deep watered the tomatoes yesterday.
Allot of folks around here are in the same boat. Keep sipping fluids. Feel better soon.

Waved my magic wand over the garden ( hoe ) . Short periods of work . Too hot to stay out very long . Pulled , hoed and weed burner as needed . Small tomatoes forming . Vine crops still small . Such a late start in May due to rain and cooler than normal . Now the heat .
Yep
:he

FAR too hot and humid today. NO wind at all. we've been sitting at a heat index of 102' for hours. I gave the chickens a watermelon and yet another water bucket, and some frozen berries.

The alpacas have been hosed down and have since rolled in the mud. The stable flies are out of control.

All the barn and coop fans are going at full speed.

I am not a fan of snow and ice, but this is tooooo far the other way.

@Acre4Me and @penny1960 - feel better! That's the worst!

If I can get them to load, a couple of flower photos (instead of flowers!)

Note. This photo took so long I’m not going to risk uploading another in this post! Get better fast!

Today was beautiful :love
I had my pick of garden chores decided to fix water wells and soak everything.
The next thing I knew I was trimming trees. I broke every rule of trimming and just had at it. I was tired of bowing and bending. I cut all the trees big time.
I laughed at myself because out of habit I still ducked.
It was 75 (@10am) a slight cool breeze. And sitting under the Elm tree is a little slice of heaven.
We haven’t used our AC yet. We’re in the 50’s at night. Open windows and it’s perfect. Ceiling fans~
The winds came up and that was that. I know as soon as the winds stop blowing here it’s going to turn into a oven.
So nice days are especially appreciated.
I made it 5 hrs before my hip wanted to go in. And the wind was making my head hurt. My hip took a nap. We woke up feeling better ;)
Have a good evening Gardeners :frow

I have a couple cucumbers almost ready to pick!

Me too! The one cucumber more than doubled in size since yesterday!!
I weeded and pulled out a zucchini plant that had died. Who can kill a zucchini plant!! (I guess I can). I guess I will try to either buy some more already started plants or start some from seeds. Seems like it is too late in the season to try from seed. However, I really want some zucchini this year!!
I have a handful or so of cherry tomatoes almost ready to pick. :love
I used some wild garlic in my spaghetti sauce tonight! I had always thought they were wild onions, but a friend set me straight.
I "planted" snake eggs in my garden. :lau That's what my hubby is telling everyone. When I was putting in the new fence around the garden the other day I uncovered 5 jelly bean sized and shaped white eggs. We are assuming they are snake eggs. :idunno I put them back where I found them ( as well as I could). Today I saw a 24 inch black snake out in that area. Who knows if they are her eggs or not. I believe snakes "lay em and leave em". My hubby is guessing garter snake. His friend suggested I put them in the incubator and see what hatches. I declined.
We are supposed to get thunderstorms for the next 9 days. :duc That will put a hamper on getting any work done outside.
I hope everyone that is not feeling well, recovers quickly!
