Good morning gardeners. I've been noticing that many of us have been experiencing similar problems with the wilting and poor development of our plants this year. I find this very curious as we are all mostly from different growing regions. Perhaps there's something different in the air? So after 3 straight days of canning tomatoes in various forms I thought I could take a break from it for at least a day or two, however, the not so ripe tomatoes languishing in my dining room greeted me at breakfast with bright red smiles. Aaaagh! Not today, tomorrow will have to do. Quick note: I pick my tomatoes before they are fully ripe for two reasons: 1- very ripe tomatoes are prone to bursting / splitting and 2-the squirrels prefer ripe tomatoes. However, I noticed this morning that an ambitious squirrel did a taste test on a not so ripe tomato and left most of it on the ground. So I picked more tomatoes, a couple of green beans and what I really hope is the last cucumber. I have some jalapenos and a poblano to pick in the front yard. Today is exciting because the wood pellets are being delivered. I think I was smart to order 3 tons rather than the usual 2 tons. The Old Farmer's Almanac winter forecast just came out and they are predicting another long cold and snowy winter. Pretty much like last winter only more snow. Nice horse @WthrLady. That's my favorite breed, very low maintenance and no poo to scoop. Good luck with your harvesting and canning everyone.
