What did you do in the garden today?

We spread out the new garden dirt into an approx 20’x30’ bed. Then I scattered various bean, pea, beet, and radish seeds all over it. Seeds that were from 2018 or seeds we didn’t like and won’t plant more of. Figure it’s warm enough this week we might get some sprouting and some growth so can till under like green manure, just on a smaller scale since it most likely won’t grow much.

Butchered the 8 meat chickens. Age 8 weeks. Chillin in the fridge now.

I went to the Renaissance Fair today with my daughter and her boyfriend. Then came home, made some chili and continued to work on burning out the stump. I even sat out by the fire for a while and toasted marshmallows and made a S'more!

We went to the renaissance fair this weekend too! Always fun to see the costumes everyone wears, see the shows, eat the food, drink some Mead!

Good morning gardeners. Skipping the garden today. I'm down sizing cable TV so I'll be waiting for the cable "guy" this afternoon. Over the air TV is not an option in my area so I'm downgrading the service to lower my monthly bill. The rosemary and lavender plants I brought indoor are doing well. The temps got up near 70F yesterday, what a treat. We're having a few warm days then cold and rainy. I'll take it. I'm going on my very first "official" leaf peeping trip later this week. I've never done this with a group of people, so it should be fun. The area where I live is amazingly beautiful on any given day, but this time of year it's stunning. It kind of makes up for having to pay for regular TV viewing. Have a great day everyone.

I checked the garden today thinking I was going to pull up all of the pole beans. Instead, I walked away from the garden with a half pound of green beans! There may be more but it got to dark to see and I lost my good flashlight that I always use. I think I left it on the back of my car and drove off and it fell off somewhere. It was my good re-chargeable one. Plus it was really bright.

Hi everyone. I've been kind of lazy all day - was so tired from working those 3 long days. I did check on the pumpkins to see how they fared after our VERY COLD weekend. They look okay except the largest one has an area on top that is darker orange than normal (pumpkin frostbite?), but otherwise looks good.
Also, today I went to look for eggs in the coop, but the door wouldn't open more than about 10". I peeked inside, and there were walnuts all over the floor blocking the door. I mean A LOT of walnuts. Once me and Hubs got inside, turns out that the plastic and insulation "ceiling" fell down in the spot right next to the door. I had noticed a hole above the door on the outside of the coop a few weeks ago, which Hubs sealed off, so now I'm thinking that a squirrel probably made the hole, and was storing walnuts from our tree in there, and it just got too heavy, and the weight of all the walnuts made the ceiling fall, along with tons of walnuts! LOL! :lau Will have to fix it tomorrow.
Right now I'm watching "Halloween Baking Championship". Kind of fun. I watch it every year, along with "Halloween Wars"...
