What did you do in the garden today?

Here is what we got done at my friend's house today. I think we canned 40+ cnas of jams and jellies.
We made wild blackberry jam, wild blackberry jelly, a mix: wild blackberry & grape jelly, and finally grape jelly!

Love all the pics, thanks for sharing! Everyone should share more, lol.

I've started handing out my jars of Christmas Jam & everyone says it's fantastic, but like @karenerwin I haven't had any because it's way too much sugar for me! I wish I had made 1 low sugar batch. Next year I will.

We had our Toys for Tots fundraiser yesterday with our off road club, we collected almost 300 toys for the Navy, a new record for us. It was a cold day to be in the woods wheeling, but is always a good time!

Another really frosty morning. It was 2F when I got up this morning. It's up to a balmy 10F right now. Fortunately the temperature inside the coop was 12F when I turned on their lights. It's supposed to warm up to around 32F and sunny today, then even warmer overnight into tomorrow for rain. I dug a little path to the bird feeders yesterday and filled two of them. I haven't seen any birds yet, but hopefully they'll see that the backyard buffet is open. While watching one of the gardening shows on PBS I got a great idea from it on how to do a nice hoop style "greenhouse" on one of my raised beds. They used 2 x 4 dog wire fencing for support. I have around 50 feet of that laying around and some plastic sheeting. I could just build a small greenhouse inside my fenced back yard that I could use during the winter. I have zero greenhouse growing experience so I need to do some research. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Now @Sueby and @karenerwin, my thoughts on reduced sugar jams - I just use less of the regular jam. Just a little swipe of jam gives a lightly sweet taste to biscuits and /or toast. Have a great day everyone.

It’s nice to see something that isn’t white. Thank you.
AGREE! We are in full Raw Sienna/Umber mode.

Had a rare nice Nebraska day yesterday. Ridiculously windy, which made the 50 degrees feel much, much colder, but bribed DH into exactly two hours of work outside, not a minute more. We moved a silly amount of alpaca poo with the tractor to the front yard where I removed that rock bed. I'll much in place all winter and throw grass seed on it in the spring.

I replaced a bathroom fan vent in the soffit and decided I better do the other one today. When one breaks the other will follow. And I'm sure it will do it during a most inconvenient time.

Picked up a bunch of odds and ends and got them into the bins.

The barn was opened up and allowed to breathe and the chickens ran amok for the afternoon. (WELL BLEW around the yard sideways, which cracks me up.)

Then drove into the town to go to the range and Menards for another vent.

OK have a lovely day all. Out to fix a vent.
