What did you do in the garden today?

So my sister's boss had been super sick, ended up in the hospital for 4 days when they announced that the infectious disease team was coming in to see him. They thought he had pneumonia but had spots in both lungs, apparently that's unusual. So they start asking him if he has animals, they finally figure out he has chickens and conclude that he has bird pneumonia! He said the treatment was pretty painful. I never even knew that was a thing! I usually wear a mask when cleaning the coop, I will be more diligent now.

Good morning all. That's pretty scary about your sister's boss @Sueby. I had bacterial pneumonia 20 years ago and it almost killed me. I use the large pine shavings in my chicken coop to cut way down on the dust and take two different allergy medicines. Sounds like you are all settling into the holiday preps. My condolences for having to go out to buy a new TV this close to Christmas @WthrLady. My last venture out into retail stores was yesterday morning to return something. I went to the grocery store on Saturday and I refuse to step foot in another store until Friday. Traffic is the worst. Today is my last exercise class for two weeks. I may order an exercise video online so I don't slack off altogether. Today the temps are supposed to be near 50F, so a great day to clean the pellet stove and feed the compost tumbler. Take care and have a great day everyone.

Wow, I'm glad he's ok! Thanks for the heads up. I wear a mask when I clean the coop because of allergies anyway, but this is a good reason not to forget and then skip it

Good morning Gardeners!
Still fighting that bad cold along with DH. Thank goodness for the awesome free oranges from our tree. Been eating a bunch. Maybe riding the scooter and motorcycle is not a good thing...:hmm Duh right? Looking forward to getting my truck back... soon. Painter says maybe next week... but we are already a few weeks behind, and with the holidays... :th he sent me a few photos yesterday that certainly cheered me up.

Been windy, cloudy w/ rain here and slight cooling trend as a cold front moves through us so that has made being home bound a little better. I did harvest most of the lettuce out of my one box and have been sharing the scraps with the girls. Going to look through my sons seeds and see what he has got going on and maybe fill that bed with something less practical. I'll never learn.
My tom blooms are not catching like I thought they would be. Our humidity is low and temps have been 79-84. We have had a solid breeze, not to high, not to low... hmmm. Thoughts anyone? They are normally a very reliable fruit unless it get too hot or too wet. It has been neither.

Not only did we have to go to town Sunday for the TV, but I had to go BACK today!

We were going to rewire the composit wires from when the house was built and replace them with HDMI and install the new TV.

So I spent over an hour in the attic trying to FIND the *^%^things. I couldn't find where they came up from the cabinet, across the attic, and then down into the tv wall. Fishing was out of the question as they drilled the wires through 2x4s when they built the house, THEN installed the cabinet, THEN blew the attic insulation-all 20 inches of it. SIGH.

SO BACK to town, to return wires and pick up a wireless transmitter set for the TV and BLue Ray. OMG..the LINES! I tried to order and pay on line with my CC but it triggered the fraud thing and wouldn't let me check out. Grrrrrr.......

So lines to return and check out.

THEN I TRIED to go to target, but after 20 minutes found NO spaces. When to market #1, no spaces. Market #2 found a space, but the lines in there were silly. But I had raw chicken so had to check out ! Then 40 minute drive home.

Just spent an hour and a half unhooking old wall tv and hooking up new stuff and things. I AM BEAT!

I have a washable mask with a removable filter and a pop vent. I wear it some of the time. I need to get better. I am clausterphobic and sometimes I just can't. Other days, like today, I am so conjested, I feel like I'm not getting any oxygen anyway, let alone when I slap on a mask.

I feel your pain with the lines! I'm going to the store after dinner, it's usually much easier to park and get through the store. I just hope they still have what I need for my scalloped potatoes! Potatoes, cheese, leeks ham and milk. I already have plenty of butter, lol.
