What did you do in the garden today?

I sure could use a back hoe, or mini excavator, or one of those back hoe style tractors... I love to dig but it would be nice to use a machine.... The things I could do!
That's my dream! Oh what I could do with a tractor and all the "toys" to go with it! I'd be invincible! I'd probably have to sew a red cape to wear when ever I used it! Hubby just might come home from a hard day at work to find a swimming hole dug in the front lawn, or the front yard bermed at the ditch. Not to mention the serious composting I could do with a bucket loader.

Was out and about today checking to see what plants came back this year :) I was pleasantly surprised to see buds on most of the plants we put in last summer - yay!! And little purple/red things popping up for the peonies I put in last spring. Hoping our weather holds out (I'm in Iowa) and we don't get any more cold weather, I've got too much stuff to do in the yard for that lol

Please don't stop there: WHADDYAGIT?

LOL!

I got two varieties of blackberry, one thorny and the other is thornless. They are already blooming. I got a "Raja Pura" dwarf bananna, a Passiflora Arida, a loquat, a "Blueberry" seedless grape, and a guamuchil.

I really wanted a weeping mulberry and was disappointed not to have come home with one. There were plenty of Pakistani mulberries but they get way too huge for my yard and I don't want to fight with a tree to stay containable.

Purple trumpet vine. I had one that took over my grapefruit tree so I had to remove it. Beautiful blooms though and they come in a few different colors from pink to lavender to violet.

I have an English strain of thornless blackberry and was told they are highly suceptable to the molds from blackberries here in California

X2 haha I'm so wearing a cape if I ever get any sort of tractor.

Haven't posted here before, but we finally got our seeds started!

It's been a long trial to get our garden space cleared of trees and tree trunks, but we only have two left and they are almost out of the ground. It's a 100x20ft garden space, so we cleared about a dozen trees.

Our spare bedroom has turned into our seeds' room. Can't wait for this garden to get started. We have 480 cups planted for just food and herb crops. We are also going to start 100 sunflowers, 50 sweet and 50 Mexican marigolds, 40 lavender, 40 bee's friend, and 40 butterfly weed next weekend.
