What did you do in the garden today?

Yesterday I pulled up the weeds I didn't get to a few days ago. Also, I transplanted my heirloom blueberries, seedless concord grapes, Marglobe tomato, and a Rosemary plant. Then I put some seeds in of Florence Fennel, Lavendula vera, Common Thyme, Endive, Marjoram, Italian Oregano, Amaranth, and Anise. And I received a sunburn to go with my garden duties of the day. I'll be a little bit smarter about sun exposure today. I get excited come spring and fall time to be a able to plant again.

I have several plants in starter trays on the porch I am impatiently waiting for them to get big enough to transplant. I will be planting more herbs, beans, and some veggies today.

Covered everything back up with plastic and blankets to try and ward off the freak freeze we're having tonight and tomorrow. Glad I haven't got too much planted out yet. Guess we'll be carrying out buckets of hot water to tuck in everywhere too.

Finally lost control and started seeds in the basement. Snow day on Tuesday - didn't go to work because of the blizzard, so I palnted seeds. Soesn't make much sence, does it?
Started: spinach, lettuce, basil (2 kinds -bush and spicy), parsley, cabbage, Johny Jump Ups, and one other thing I can't think of right now.
24 hours later and the cabbage and bush basil have germinated and are 1/8" tall !!!

I hope they are just early starters and slow down a bit. I can't plant outside until June ... maybe mid-May if I can get my hoop house up by then. 35 mph winds winds - nothing happening outside today.

Planted mustard, turnips, kale yesterday and the "weather guessers" are calling for an all day rain today! The garden bug has bit me hard this year, I can't get things planted fast enough.

Yesterday I planted potatoes even though it's too cold really, climbing beans, salad and cabbage. Weather is finally supposed to warm up this weekend. Today I am going to put my fava beans outside before it rains.

I planted potatoes the other day too! I can't wait to plant the salads and kale and swiss chard. Today I mulched the vegetable garden before the weeds start to grow.

I got all of my raised beds planted last week. Today some of my cucumbers and carrots started popping up through the soil.

Raised bed #1:
cucumbers, tomatoes, buttercrunch lettuce, carrots, cabbage, aspargus, sage, parsley, basil, oregano, thyme, lavender

Raised bed #2:
black eyed peas, wax beans, various green beans, silver queen corn, yellow corn
