What did you do in the garden today?

Do you roto-till your garden each year? If so, you can also bury jugs in the ground at strategic locations using the same concept as the slow drip watering jugs....only they deliver the water below ground to the roots instead of at ground level.
I've been saving gallon jugs all year, just to try this for my trees and shrubs this summer.

Good morning nothing happening today garden wise except maybe getting the last of my seeds if we go into town. We should be getting foster kittens sometime this week. Also woke up to freezing fog! It’s fun waking up to see the trees all white. Unfortunately some of my plants that don’t mine frost seem to have a problem with the fog :(
I’ll have to see if they look any better tomorrow. Luckily I had some stuff covered since the temps were supposed to get so low last night.

We ran the tubing through heavy duty conduit where I have to drive over it. BUT yay they CAN do something. But is there a way to get all that clean? Run off can have some seriously nasty crap in it.

My husband would never let me put something across the drive that we would regularly drive over. We do have a culvert under the driveway in one spot, but it is blocked with debris. Need to get it cleaned out which is a chore we haven't tackled yet.

And yes, you get some nasty crap in the run off....mostly trash which annoys the heck out of me. Luckily our road is a dead-end road so there isn't a ton of traffic on it. I don't get toxic run-off like oil or anything.... And it is all dumping into the garden right now anyway. I would just be diverting it to a cistern and putting it through a filter so I think it would actually help remove toxins and trash rather than allowing it to dump unilaterally. I have been trying to get the city to help pay for this fix, but they refuse to claim any responsibility. Go figure....

On a side note, I just planted 12 new trees which I HOPE grow quickly. They are building a new medical building next door to my house. The General Contractor came knocking and asked if they could tear down the tree line that separates both of our properties because they wanted to level the ground and put in a 6 ft privacy fence. That fence line has been problematic for us because the trees grew into the fenceline so we can't tell if/when the fence is down. They agreed to put in an entirely new fence for us (horse & goat friendly) in exchange. We agreed... They also put in the privacy fence on their side but it doesn't really do much to block the view because their parking lot is a higher elevation than our property. Also, the old tree line was doing a lot to block noise from the 2 lane highway which is on the OTHER side of the medical clinic. Soooo......I picked up some trees from the Arbor Day Foundation in hopes of getting a new tree line in 3-4 years which will block the view of the medical clinic AND noise.... Most of the trees I picked SAY they grow 24-36" in a year. We'll see.... I added:

**Weeping Willow (good spread)
**Southern Live Oaks (grow fast to start and then slow down)
**Bald Cypress (on the edge of my pond as opposed to the tree line but still should block some view)

I toyed with the idea of getting some fast growing evergreens, but haven't done so yet. I wanted to see how these play out first.

Can I just say anxiety/panic attacks SUUUUUCK!

UGH. It must be my Roseaca flair that is infected that is sending my body into overdrive.
I was so bad this morning I actually called in and got into the doc. It was BAD. I was holding back the tears when she called back to make the appointment. She told me to come straight in and they'd work me in. I literally needed someone to tell me I wasn't about to drop dead. I felt like I was shaking like a cartoon, like my heart was ready to explode out of my chest and racing. But it wasn't. Insanity I tell you. And it's worse 'cause you cannot talk yourself out of it. You just spiral.

He gave me meds for the infection and we're hoping that's it. But dang.

Not doing anything but sitting here today. Even though it's heading for 56 degrees today. Here I sit. afraid to move.
